Fundraising
How does School Boost fundraising work?
Students create their own online fundraising page, share it with whānau and friends, and collect donations before the event. On event day, everyone celebrates with a fun run or colour run.
What types of fundraisers can we run?
Colour runs, fun runs, skip-a-thons, walkathons and other activity-based campaigns. We help you choose what works best for your school.
How long does a typical campaign run?
Most New Zealand schools run a 4–8 week campaign, with the celebration event at the end.
Fees & Money
How much does School Boost cost?
We offer two simple options:
- 10% - 20% fee if you choose no student prizes
- 40% fee if you choose prizes and rewards
There are no upfront costs and no invoices to pay.
When does the school receive the funds?
Schools receive their share shortly after the campaign finishes, with a full fundraising report and GST-compliant invoice.
Is GST included?
Yes. We provide GST-compliant invoicing and reporting to make accounting and auditing easy for schools and boards.
Do schools need to pay anything upfront?
No. School Boost covers platform setup, materials, and prizes (if selected). You only share a percentage of what you raise.
Online Platform
How does the online fundraising platform work?
Each student gets a personal fundraising page to collect donations online. Schools can track progress in real time through a dashboard.
Is the platform easy for teachers and parents to use?
Yes. It’s designed for schools, parents and students with simple logins, guides and templates provided.
Is student and donor data secure?
Yes. Donations are processed securely and data is handled in line with New Zealand privacy standards.
Event Day & Logistics
What does the school need to do on event day?
Schools manage the timetable and supervision. We provide run sheets, safety documents, and planning resources.
How many volunteers do we need?
Most schools use teachers and parent helpers for supervision and colour stations. We provide a volunteer checklist.
Is the colour powder safe?
Yes. Our colour powder is non-toxic, biodegradable, and made from food-grade ingredients.
Will the colour stain uniforms or clothing?
The powder is designed to wash out easily. We recommend wearing old clothes and washing soon after the event.
Prizes & Student Rewards
Do we have to offer prizes?
No. Schools can choose a no-prize model to keep more funds, or include prizes to boost student motivation.
What prizes are available?
We offer age-appropriate prizes, certificates, and classroom rewards designed for primary school students.
